AJ Styles
The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles, started off the year as the WWE champion and has a chance to end the year with the same title around his waist. Though his championship run became a bit stale, he delivered every single time he stepped into the ring.
After his feud with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, Styles took on Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania and Nakamura’s heel turn prolonged the feud for a couple of PPVs. Following that, he defeated Rusev for the title at WWE Extreme Rules and was involved in a rivalry with Samoa Joe which was very personal.
After holding the title for over one year, Styles dropped it to Daniel Bryan just before the Survivor Series PPV and will be getting a rematch for his title at the upcoming WWE TLC PPV.
