Styles lost the WWE Title to Daniel Bryan last week on Smackdown. Before he lost the title however, he was scheduled to square off against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in a Champion vs. Champion match. The sudden title change merely days before the event left Styles without a match at the Pay-Per-View. Thus, Styles ended up missing the event and this was the first time in nearly 3 years that he wasn’t a part of a co-branded or Smackdown exclusive event.
