In a WTA 125 event held at the L’Open 35 de Saint-Malo clay courts, Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam winner, achieved her first WTA title since winning the 2021 Australian Open by defeating Slovenia’s Kaja Juvan with a score of 6-1 7-5.
This was the first time the 27-year-old Japanese woman was able to clinch a WTA title post her mothering in July 2023.
“Winning a trophy on a surface that was a struggle for me is kind of funny, I thought I’d never win on,” Osaka stated.

“I am thankful for everyone who has joined me on this journey, I understand it is turbulent, but incredible at the same time, and I am grateful. There is always room to grow and evolve”.
The A former world number one, who advanced into the 3rd round of the Australian Open in January, is expected to play in the French Open later this month.
