Virat Kohli’s Tattoo Artist Reveals the Meaning of Kohli’s Latest Tattoo

Kohli Latest Tattoo

India cricketer Virat Kohli’s love for getting inked is well known as several tattoos adorn his body. A lot of people wonder how Kohli chooses his tattoos and what they symbolise. Sunny Bhanushali, who worked on Kohli’s latest tattoo revealed how the cricketer chose his latest tattoo design and what it means to him.

Bhanushali, owner and founder of Aliens Tattoo, shared in a blog post how the former India captain walked into their studio a few years ago and approached him with photos of their tattoo work on his phone. Kohli told him that he had been following their work for over two years.

Bhanushali wrote how he found Kohli to be incredibly humble and down-to-earth despite his immense fame. Kohli wanted him to work on his next tattoo. However, Kohli’s tight schedule and travel plans did not allow the project to materialise. But last month, Kohli contacted Bhanushali and requested him to make a cover-up tattoo over an old tattoo.

Kohli wanted a new tattoo that would reflect his “spirituality” and “something that would represent the interconnectedness of all things and the source of creation itself, something which depict higher ones and oneness, the structure of life, the source of all”.

Bhanushali carefully crafted the design over several days and Kohli was thrilled with the result. Bhanushali’s colleague Devendra Palav helped him with his expertise in geometric and dotwork style.
When Kohli walked into Aliens Tattoo studio, they could feel the excitement and anticipation in the air. “As a high-profile celebrity, Virat’s security was of utmost importance, and the studio took all necessary measures to ensure his safety, including shutting down the studio for the day and providing armed security guards,” he shared.

Due to his tight schedule, Kohli had to divide the tattooing process into two sessions. The first session was scheduled for the Mumbai studio, where Kohli spent six hours getting his tattoo done, and the second session of eight hours took place in a Bangalore studio. Finally, after more than 12 hours of tattooing, the design was completed. Kohli looked down at his new tattoo with a sense of wonder and amazement, he shared.
