The Hundred (Cricket)- Squads, Icon players and more
The Hundred is a pioneering 100-ball cricket tournament that will be played between 8 English counties. There will be 100 balls bowled per innings and ends will change after every 10 balls. Bowlers can deliver either 5/10 balls at a stretch, going up to a maximum of 20 balls for each game. Every bowling side will have a 2 ½ minute time-out and every team will have a 25 ball powerplay start. Two fielders will be allowed outside of the 30-yard circle in this powerplay period. Teams will be able to call for timeouts like the IPL (Indian Premier League).
With excitement heating up for the tournament, there was considerable enthusiasm relating to the player draft on Sunday night for The Hundred. Some of the biggest global stars chosen included Andre Russell, Steve Smith, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kane Williamson and Rashid Khan although legends like Lasith Malinga and Chris Gayle were overlooked along with Kagiso Rabada.
