With Windies Flair, Northern Warriors Squad Comes Closest to Challenging Favorites Maratha Arabians

Darren Sammy, Andre Russell, Lendl Simmons, Rayad Emrit make the core of this team and add the much entertaining Carribean flavor to the Northern Warriors Squad who begin their T10 League campaign against Maratha Arabians on November 15. Sammy is the captain of the side and also their icon player.

The defending champions have the much-needed firepower with the likes of Simmons, Russell, Sam Billings and Sikandar Raza forming the core of their batting lineup. Simmons and Russell will bring their invaluable IPL experience to the table as they are players who have been playing T20 cricket for a length of time now.

Ansh Tandon and Amir Hayat are faces from the UAE national cricket team. While Ansh is just 18, Hayat is double his age. That they are both inexperienced ties them in the same string and the Abu Dhabi T10 League is an ideal platform for them to learn from some of the world’s best. It gives both of them ample time and opportunity to learn the traits of T20 cricket.
Their bowling attack is also well-rounded. Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz will lead the bowling attack and will have Russell and Rayad Emrit for company. Rayad and Russell apart from playing in the IPL has a wealth of experience playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). While Russell is currently playing for Jamaica Tallawahs while Emrit is plying his trade for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
Apart from the pace attack, Chris Green and Pravin Tambe provide them with spinning options. While Tambe has played for Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Lions in the IPL, Green has been playing Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League where he discovered his true potential.
