IPL 2020 Auctions: 4 Players Who Will Not be Included in the IPL Auction List

The IPL 2020 Auctions is just around the corner and hence the anticipation regarding it is increasing every moment among the Indian fans. The franchisees having retained and released certain players in the transfer window have certainly done their homework as the players they are eyeing to buy in the upcoming auctions in Kolkata on December 19.

However, there are four players who are set to miss going under the hammer in the auctions for various reasons. Let’s have a look at them. 

Yuvraj Singh

The first big name who is set to miss the auctions is former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. After announcing his international retirement earlier this year in June, Yuvraj requested the BCCI to give him an NOC so that he could participate in overseas T20 leagues. As per BCCI rules, one a player is granted an NOC to play in overseas T20 competitions, he will not be a part of the IPL auctions. Over the years, Yuvraj has played for six IPL franchisees (KXIP, RCB, DD, PWI, SRH, MI) having represented Mumbai Indians last year. He played for Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada tournament earlier this year. Very recently he played for the Maratha Arabians in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. He is also expected to play in the upcoming Qatar T10 League

Shakib Al Hasan

The face of Bangladesh cricket Shakib Al Hasan will be the next international star cricketer who will not be a part of the upcoming auction. 

Shakib was banned by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after reports emerged that he had hidden reports of bookies approaching him ahead of an IPL game vs Kings XI Punjab last season. Shakib didn’t let the board know about the same and when the board came to know about it they wasted no time in handing the senior cricketer a two-year ban. Shakib was part of two IPL titles with KKR (2012, 2014), before he was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2018. Shakib has 746 runs and 59 wickets in his IPL career so far. 

Liam Livingstone

English all-rounder Liam Livingstone made his IPL debut with Rajasthan Royals last year. In four matches for the Royals, he scored 71 runs averaging 23. He made his debut for England in 2017 but just after his debut, he has been dropped from the national side. Since then, he has not been able to make his return. With an aim to make it back to the national team, Livingstone has opted out of the IPL this year. He will be plying his trade in the County Championship. He is also eyeing to make it to the England Test and ODI squad having already made his T20I debut.

Rasikh Salam

The Jammu & Kashmir pacer was first noticed by Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan during his coaching stint with the state Ranji Trophy team. Salam’s talent was then given due rewards after Mumbai Indians decided to rope in the young pacer for 20 lakhs.

He did not have the best of starts to his IPL career despite which the selectors gave him an opportunity to play Ranji Trophy for his state side. However, Salam made the mistake of submitting fake birth certificate to the national cricket governing body. Upon verification, he became a victim of age-fraud and was handed a 2-year ban by the BCCI. Subsequently, his IPL franchise also parted ways with the south Kashmir-based youngster.
