Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Barcelona defender Yerry Mina

Manchester United have turned their attention to Yerry Mina according to a report by Sky Sports. The Red Devils have reportedly cooled their interest in Harry Maguire after they demanded a world record fee for him.

The Colombian defender is on Barcelona’s transfer list and is reportedly set to be sold this summer. Lyon and Everton have been continuously linked with him while West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers were also said to be eyeing a move for him.

Reports suggest that United could seal the signing of Mina for around £35m – less than half of what Leicester City are demanding for Maguire. The move will be just seven months after Mina signed from Brazilian club Palmeiras for £10 million!

The 23-year-old but has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou this summer. He struggled to get into Valverde's starting XI and made just four appearances just in La Liga last season.

He had a very successful World Cup this summer and caught a lot of attention. He scored three goals in as many games for Colombia, and that included a last-minute equaliser against England in the last 16.

Everton were leading the race so far for him but were not willing to match Barcelona’s demands. The Catalan side wanted £35 million for him while the Toffees were willing to pay around £27 million.

The Merseyside club were confident of signing him after having another deal done with Barcelona. The Spanish giants sold left-back, Lucas Digne to Everton earlier this week for £18 million.

United are now looking to offload Marcos Rojo to make space for Yerry Mina. The Argentine is seen as an alternate for Mina by Everton, and a move to Goodison Park is on the cards for Rojo this week. He is set to cost around £30 million as per reports.
