Women T20 World Cup SA-W vs SCO-W Match Prediction: Who Will Win Today Match?

World-Cup

South Africa Women take on Scotland Women T20 in Match 11 of the ICC Women T20 World Cup 2024 on Wednesday October 9, 2024. This match will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

This match is going to be interesting given the fact that both teams are coming off disappointing defeats and are looking to get some momentum in their respective campaigns.

South Africa Ladies began their tournament in a lively fashion defeating West Indies Women by 10 wickets thoroughly. Unfortunately, they met England Women and lost by 7 wickets despite posting a well below par 124/6.

It was a disappointing into the game for their captain Laura Wolvaardt who did her best to score 42 from 39. Guide Marizanne Kapp built the 26 runs that came from 17. Annerie Dercksen entertained for a short period with 20 from 11 but insipid batting from Tazmin Brits, Anneke Bosch, Chloe Tryon and Sune Luus left the side in all sorts of bother.

Kapp and Ayabonga Khaka opened the bowling with a lot of energy and aggressive topping Kapp’s bowling figures at 1/17. Khaka did not achieve such success and neither did Chloe Tryon impress leaving the field conceding 25 runs in 3 overs of her spell.

Both Nonkululeko Mlaba and Nadine de Klerk had a wicket a piece and complimented the bowling attack nicely but it was for naught as England reached the target with four balls to spare. For South Africa, it is time to wipe off the dust and return to winning ways.

Scotland Women Struggle to Find Their Footing

Scotland Women T20 Match started in the bottom of Group B into the tournament and have lost both games played thus far even though they have just played two games. After losing to Bangladesh Women by 16 runs, they also succumbed to West Indies Women by six wickets in their recent match.

Scotland barely crossed the hundred mark when they made 99 runs batting first scoring 99 with only Capt Kathryn Bryce 25 and Ailsa Lister with 26 more significant than the rest of the batters. The openers two, Saskia Horley and Sarah Bryce will have to take the responsibility to ensure that Scotland does not struggle in the middle overs.

It was apparent that defending 99 was an uphill task from the word go but Olivia Bell gave a good account of herself with the ball returning statistics of 2/18_3. Rachel Slater and Priyanaz Chatterji took one wicket apiece but proved to be expensive while Kathryn Bryce went wicket less and for Abtaha Maqsood her two overs cost 28 runs.

As the Scotland Women’s team gets ready to face strong South Africa, they are looking forward to playing better than before and exhibiting better skills on the world stage.

How Will the Dubai International Cricket Stadium Pitch Behave?

The Dubai Cricket Stadium has been favorable to bowlers with the fast bowlers slashing the first over and the slow one proving effective in the middle overs. Scoring runs has not been easy for most batsmen and across the four tournament matches played here, three have been won by the chasing teams. Due to possible improvement of the conditions as the matches continue, 130 runs which will be a target for the chasing teams might become a winning score.
