Thursday, 21 November 2019 was the second last day of the Super League stage in the ongoing T10 League 2019. Like every day, there were three exciting matches play in the day with teams fighting it out at the Zayed Cricket stadium in Abu Dhabi. The games were played with plenty of intensity and by the end of the night, a couple of teams were knocked out of the competition.
Here’s a summary of all the three matches played on Day 7.
Match 19: Maratha Arabians vs Delhi Bulls
Chris Lynn was once again in the thick of the action for the Maratha Arabians as they knocked out Delhi Bulls out of the T10 League 2019. Lynn followed his 91 against Team Abu Dhabi on Monday with a 89 on Thursday. Courtesy his exploits Marathas scored 146/4 in their 10 overs. Dasun Shakana, the Sri Lankan all-rounder also played a cameo scoring 18 off 6 balls.
The Bulls in their reply were always were below the asking rate and had too much to chase. Kusal Perera’s unbeaten 45 and Sherfane Rutherford’s quickfire 41 were not enough for the Bulls as they fell short by 30 runs. The Bulls finally finished on 116/3. The Marathas on the other hand, have almost confirmed themselves a place in the playoffs.

Match 20: Karnataka Tuskers vs Qalandars
In the second game of the night, the Qalandars registered a win over Karnataka Tuskers. Qalandars lost their previous two matches and a win was important for them to stay alive in the league. Opting to bat first, powered by Tom Banton’s 80 the Qalandars finished on 130 for 7 in their 10 overs.
The Tuskers in reply could only score 98 for 9 in their 10 overs as they lost the match by 32 runs. They too like the Delhi Bulls are now out of contention for the playoffs, while the Qalandars with 5 points are still in the race. The Qalandars bowlers backed up the good job done by their batsmen by bowling economical overs and taking wickets at regular intervals. Banton for his matchwinning knock was awarded the Man of the Match.

Match 21: Deccan Gladiators vs Northern Warriors
The Deccan Gladiators gave it away after having the upper hand for a good length of time in the game. Having restricted the Warriors to 107/5 after losing the toss, Gladiators skipper Shane Watson brought out his A-game in the chase. However, his unbeaten knock of 75 was not enough to see his team home as the Warriors won the game by 10 runs. The Gladiators failed to hit a single boundary in the last three overs also losing the key wicket of Pollard in the meantime.
Therefore, after the day’s play, the Delhi Bulls and the Karnataka Tuskers have made an exit from the tournament while the other teams are still alive in the contest for a race for the playoffs.
