During the ‘Dubai Sports Retreat’, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE and the Crown Prince of Dubai met India’s most successful female tennis player Sania Mirza and UFC lightweight champion champion in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
Retreat was conducted with a theme ‘Dubai: The First Sports Destination’ at the Museum of the Future.
Sheikh Hamdan took to the social media platform, X to emphasize the fact that, “The Dubai Sports Retreat held at the Museum of the Future, completed the participation of 100 local and foreign people, including sports stars, which further promotes Dubai as a sports city in the world.”
“I shared ideas with Dubai’s sporting ambassadors – an amazing collection of Arab and global stars who live in the city. I love how tough it is for them to develop the sport and foster the next generation.”
We appreciate every participant that attended the Sports Retreat that took place in Dubai Sports Retreat, organized by @DubaiSC. Certain ideas and thoughts exchanged at such a ceremony will be instrumental in making sports better and growing other clubs’ achievements while growing regional talent.
We have an objective which is to turn sports into a lifestyle, a reason to enjoy oneself, and a major contributory force to the growth of Dubai City, he said.
French football player and Manchester United former key quarterback Fabien Barthez, basketball legend Fadi Al Khatib from Lebanon and Indian international cricket player Harbhajan Singh had assured their presence for the celebrations.
