Sheffield United secures Auston Trusty on a permanent deal.

The 24-year-old defender initially joined Sheffield United from MLS side Colorado Rapids in January 2022, and for the rest of that season, he was loaned back to the Rapids.

In the 2022/23 season, Auston moved to Birmingham City, where he made an impressive 48 appearances across all competitions for the Championship side. During this time, he scored four goals and provided two assists. His consistent and solid performances earned him his first call-up to the USA national team, making his debut in a 7-1 victory against Grenada in March 2023. The season ended on a high note for Auston, as he was honored with the title of Birmingham City’s Player of the Season.

Edu, the Sporting Director, expressed immense pride in Auston’s journey and the progress he has made since joining Sheffield United. From his early days at the club to now being an established USA international and earning accolades in English football, Auston’s growth has been remarkable. Moving forward, Auston will be playing top-flight football as he embarks on a new challenge with a Premier League club.
