She also survived horrific domestic abuse during her difficult first marriage. She bravely left that dangerous situation to protect her two young daughters. Dhankar only began her inspiring sporting journey at the age of 34. She quickly made a massive impact by winning gold at the 2021 National Championships. She narrowly missed a medal at the Birmingham Games in 2022. She even sold her family home to fund her continued athletic training.
