Eric Bishoff is finally here. Following the taking over of the newly hired executive director Eric Bischoff, the first episode of SmackDown on 23rd Jul 2019, witnessed an emphasis on hard-hitting action. This was quite visible in the WWE SmackDown results. The feud between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon was rekindled while Kevin Owens finally revealed his SummerSlam 2019 opponent.
The evening took off with McMahon giving an in-ring promo, declaring his need for a written proof of the challenge posed by Owens stating that in case he gets defeated at SummerSlam, he would pursue retirement. Shane also displayed a video of Owen’s promise to leave WWE RAW after a match with Seth Rollins without following through on the same. McMahon eventually turned down Owen’s offer of a match and instead booked him against Roman Reigns in the main event. He named himself as guest ring announcer, Drew McIntyre as the referee and Elias as the timekeeper.

According to WWE SmackDown results, here are the updates regarding the bouts that took place-
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Apollo Crews
Shinsuke Nakamura made Apollo Crews bite the dust through a pinfall, adding his name to the list of WWE SmackDown winners. After a nail-biter, Nakamura finally hit Crews with the Kinshasa after which it was just a formality.
Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns
This one was a no-contest thanks to Reigns hitting a Superman punch on Shane McMahon while Owens followed through with two stunners. Here’s the back-story- Shane McMahon was introduced as the guest ring announcer. He introduced both the wrestlers although making jokes about them. Kevin then says that he doesn’t have any issues in going after Roman Reigns if it means getting to Shane McMahon. Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens played out a gritty match although Drew McIntyre, the guest referee, eventually gets hit by Roman Reigns and thrown outside. Shane McMahon is then cornered in the ring after Kevin Owens knocks down Elias. Drew and Elias then combine to combat both Owens and Reigns whom Shane McMahon starts pulverizing. However, Kevin Owens drags McMahon outside and throws him direct into the barricade. Roman also grabs Shane McMahon, throwing him into the ring and the match is a no-contest with both combining to take out Shane McMahon.
Charlotte Flair vs. Ember Moon
Ember Moon won this duel with a roll up from behind and a pin. Charlotte had earlier clotheslined Moon although this did not quite get her the victory she wanted.
Kofi Kingston vs. Samoa Joe
This one was another no-contest involving Randy Orton as well. Kofi and Joe were hitting each other hard until the former threw Joe out of the ring and jumped on him from the top rope. Once Joe was thrown back in the ring, Kofi kept on his punches, but Joe recovered, dropping Kofi onto the turnbuckle and followed it up with a chop to Kingston’s chest. Joe was then taken down by a massive forearm from Kingston. However, in came Randy Orton going for the RKO although Kingston blocked it with the referee asking for the bell. Kofi stood his ground to Randy Orton while Joe tried grabbing him but got the RKO coming at him. Eventually, Kingston landed his Trouble in Paradise on Randy Orton.
As revealed by WWE SmackDown fights results, Dolph Ziggler crashed “Miz TV” and dropped hints of a possible SummerSlam feud with Shawn Michaels. The last week of July will see a match between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville against The Liconics. These WWE SmackDown match results are sure to grab eyeballs.
