Vivianne Miedema's

After an almost eleven-month absence, Vivianne Miedema’s is set to make her return to the Arsenal Women’s matchday squad in the game against Bristol City. Miedema’s recovery has seen her participating in full team training for several weeks. Should she take the field in this match, it will mark her 98th appearance in the Women’s Super League.

Miedema had been sidelined since December due to an ACL injury sustained during a match against Lyon in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Remarkably, her return coincides with Beth Mead’s comeback. Mead had also faced a similar injury, coincidentally just two weeks after Miedema’s injury, during a game against Manchester United. Mead recently made her return to the squad, making an appearance in the game against Aston Villa and contributing a game-winning assist.

In preparation for the Bristol City clash, Arsenal’s head coach, Jonas Eidevall, made two changes to the starting lineup from the previous weekend. Laia Codina replaced the injured Amanda Ilestedt, while Victoria Pelova earned her first Women’s Super League start of the season.

The match also holds special significance for Caitlin Foord, who will be making her 100th appearance for Arsenal. Foord will be starting on the wing in this fixture.

The confirmed Arsenal starting lineup for the match includes Manuela Zinsberger as the goalkeeper, along with Lotte Wubben-Moy, Steph Catley, Kim Little as captain, Lia Wälti, Katie McCabe, Leonie Maier, Caitlin Foord, Victoria Pelova, Lisa Evans, and Laia Codina. The substitutes’ bench consists of Lydia Williams, Jennifer Beattie, Jennifer Hermoso, Beth Mead, Frida Maanum, Malin Gut, and Nikita Parris.

This return of Vivianne Miedema and the notable milestones achieved by Caitlin Foord add an extra layer of anticipation to the Arsenal Women’s clash against Bristol City. With Mead also available, the Arsenal squad is poised for an exciting match in the Women’s Super League.

This update highlights the key team news and lineup changes for Arsenal Women’s encounter with Bristol City, underscoring the significance of Vivianne Miedema’s return, the milestones reached by Caitlin Foord, and the overall squad dynamics for this crucial Women’s Super League match.
