The Rod Laver Arena witnessed Jannik Sinner claim consecutive Australian Open victories when he defeated Alexander Zverev in the final match for men’s singles in Melbourne on Sunday. Sinner won the match convincingly with score results of 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.
Jannik Sinner maintained his title by defeating Nicolas Jarry, Tristan Schoolkate, Marcos Giron, Holger Rune, Alex de Minaur in his successful defense campaign. He secured victory over Ben Shelton during the semi-final match with straight sets wins.

When is Jannik Sinner’s CAS hearing?
The Australian Open 2025 potentially represents the last Major he will play this year because he is approaching his doping case CAS hearing. The Italian tennis player will attend the hearing set for April 16-17 which may result in a two-year ban if he loses the case.
Sinner faced questions about his upcoming hearing during his press conference following his win against Zverev. He said, “Tough to say. The matter is not on my mind right now. I finished a spectacular performance here. “This moment deserves my honest attention,” Jannik Sinner declared after his win against Zverev. “The hearing date is known now so that’s all there is to say.” At present my focus is on enjoying this moment.

The US Open title run of Sinner became controversial after he tested positive twice for clostebol in March of last year. An independent tribunal sided with his explanation that unintentional contamination caused the positive test results. The Italian explained that he tested positive for the steroid because his physio treated a cut with spray and then gave him a massage and therapy.
Sinner ended his professional relationship with physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi and athletic trainer Umberto Ferrara due to the controversy at the end of August last year. The physiotherapist and athletic trainer both received blame for unintentional contamination.
Naldi expressed to La Stampa his hope that he would eventually be able to explain what happened so that a full picture could emerge. General public interpretation of the story positions me as the sole cause of the incident. The truth stands with the verdict which anyone who reviewed knows. People have not all made this effort which I understand.
Jannik Sinner confronts an unpredictable future which may result in him missing two years of Grand Slam tournaments.
