NEW DELHI: IPL 2025 mega auction dates confirmed. The BCCI said on Tuesday that the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction is scheduled for the 24th and 25th of November 2025 in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
The 2 day event shall coincide with the 3rd and 4th day’s play of the Perth Test between India and Australia.
About 1574 identified 402 overseas 1175 Indian players who will attend the 2 day event where 204 places are available.
48 capped Indian players including the likes of stars Rishab Pant, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are set to be up for auction this time round.
This is now the second consecutive time that the auction is actually being done outside India which was held in Dubai 2024 mini auction.
The players’ registration was officially closed on 4 November and the BCCI in its release has already detailed that 320 capped players and 1224 uncapped players and 30 players from the Associate Nations will all feature in the auction.
Besides the 272 international capped players, 965 Indians are uncapped, 152 Indians who were parts of earlier seasons but uncapped and 104 uncapped overseas players will be subjected to bidding.
Breakdown of the 409 foreigners according to their country of origin:
In the run-up to the auction, the 10 franchises have together held onto 46 players with a total cost of Rs 558.5 crore. They now have about Rs 641.5 crore to further the auction.
As per each franchise, Rs 120 crore was made available for squad construction but again after the retention process which was carried out on 31st October, the Punjab Kings have the largest surpluses of Rs 110.5 crore.
The Punjab side retained only 2 uncapped players Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh with a total of Rs 9.5 crore.
Sanju Samson Karachi kings retained 6 players and managed to have the lowest purse amount at 41 crores after slashing players off.
The Kolkata Knight Riders have also managed to hold on to 6 players, remaining with a purse of 51 crores.
