We’re eagerly preparing for our maiden match T20 World Cup in the UAE, shares Harmanpreet Kaur.
Winning the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is our primary aim. We’ve been reaching for this target as a team for some time now, and bagging that trophy is our ultimate pursuit. Our team is brimming with ambition and determination.
We’re committed to doing everything it takes and playing bold cricket, aiming to leave our own stamp and to notch up some big wins.
The goal is simple: make our country and fans proud, no matter where on Earth we play.
Every team player sees the Women’s T20 World Cup, and every game, as a chance to give our all together. We wish to urge budding cricketers worldwide to pursue the sport we all cherish and admire.
Our squad longs to claim that cherished prize. Believing in our collective strength, I’m confident we have the chops to secure the trophy. We reached the endgame of the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. Also, we almost made it to the ultimate showdown in the 2023 edition in South Africa. It’s evident that our team possesses the pedigree to sparkle in high-pressure matches.
Our first game in the UAE is coming up and we’re all thrilled in the camp. There’s lots to anticipate. We expect crowds in abundance as we take to the fields in both Dubai and Sharjah.
This group holds a hefty dose of experience, gained from heaps of competitive cricket played worldwide. Despite some of our team members being in their early 20s, they’ve engaged in ample cricket, overcoming tough scenarios and emerging victorious.
New members of our team inject a dose of fresh vitality. They’re excited to grow and succeed. This eagerness will surely spice up our team vibe, forming a lively ambiance. Ready to adjust and deliver, these newcomers are poised to leave a mark alongside our veteran team.
There is a sense of oneness in the group along with a great deal of regard for individual members. We trust one another and coordinate efforts to ensure no one gets left behind. It also helps to have backup who tries hard to cultivate a healthy environment within and outside the team.
Instead, the preparations for this tournament as it is, started the moment the last tournament of the Women’s T20 WC ended.
The team is aimed towards a direction that has been well defined as well as the members of the team have been given full liberty in the manner they prepare for the success of the team.
Of course, tact of cricketing skills counts a lot, the emphasis on the fitness of the players is another feature that we appreciate knowing how much of that part of the game counts and how much difference it can make. It does help that all the players have embraced this concept or system
As the oppositions will change, so will the team strategies. On the contrary, our emphasis remains largely on sticking to our guns and realizing our full potential.–Picture Credit: International Cricket Council.
