Real Madrid reach agreement with Manchester United for €100m star – Reports

Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Premier League giants Manchester United for the transfer of their superstar goalkeeper David de Gea according to a report from Spanish media outlet Don Balon.
The keeper has long been linked with a move to Real and it nearly went through in the summer 2015. However, an 11th hour hitch owing to a faulty fax machine meant that the deal eventually fell through.
Blancos president Florentino Perez has been a long-time admirer of the keeper and according to the report, he has made the former Atletico Madrid guy his number one target this coming summer.
The reports also states that Jorge Mendes – David De Gea’s agent has been negotiating the deal with United for some weeks and has been finally given the green light to set the plans into motion.
Don Balon had earlier reported on Monday that Jose Mourinho looks desperate to land Real Madrid star Isco and was willing to let go of De Gea as a part of a player-plus-cash deal.
Real have reportedly been told that they will have to shell in excess of €100m to secure the services of the Spanish number one. The Blancos, however, should be helped in that regards by the sale of James Rodriguez – who looks set to make his move to Bayern Munich permanent. He is believed to cost the Germans in the region of €55m.
Many eyebrows will certainly be raised if this move really does go through. David De Gea seems to be the only ‘world-class’ talent that United have in their squad. Once shrouded as ‘too small’ to succeed in the Premier League – the 27-year-old has proved his pedigree time and again – endearing himself to the United faithful.
A cult hero and one of the biggest faces at the club, it would be a huge call for Mourinho if he allows De Gea to leave the club at a time when they are looking redefine their own identity. While Isco is a wonderful talent – to let go of De Gea to bring in the midfielder seems like a move not worthy of being discussed.
The bottom line, however, should be that at the end of all this, this rumour comes from Don Balon – which means that it should always be taken with a pinch of salt.
