Manchester United interested in Croatian World Cup stars Ivan Perisic and Ante Rebic – Reports

Manchester United are reportedly keen on signings Ivan Perisic and Ante Rebic this summer. The two were a key part of Croatia’s World Cup campaign and ended up with the runners-up medals.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign a winger, and it is no surprise that he has shown interest in the two World Cup heroes. Reports suggested that Manchester United were keen on signing Perisic last summer as well, but the move did not materialise – something that the Portuguese later confirmed.

The Croatian, according to Mourinho had turned down the move. While working as a World Cup pundit for RT, Mourinho said,“I don’t know why he didn’t come to Manchester when I wanted him.”

Perisic is seen as a cheaper alternative to Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale – a name that has been time and again been linked with a move to Old Trafford. While Mourinho hinted that it was Perisic who turned down the move, other reports had also suggested that United couldn’t reach an agreement with Inter Milan.

Mourinho has made it clear that he is still interested in signing the Croat. Along with the Inter Milan star, Jose is also targeting his national teammate, Rebic – who made eyes turn with his performances in the World Cup.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are willing to splash the cash on both the players. They claim that the Old Trafford side are ready to spend a total of £92 million on the Croatian pair.

Apart from these wingers mentioned above, Mourinho also has an eye on Willian. The Chelsea star is keen on leaving Stamford Bridge this summer and is a top target for Manchester United.

However, they will be facing some stiff competition from Barcelona. The Catalan side have already made three bid for the Brazilian as per reports with the latest one said to be around £55 million.

Chelsea are still not willing to sell the 29-year-old, but reports suggest that should he force a move away, the Blues will sell him to Barcelona and not Manchester United.
