Cristiano Ronaldo Sparks Controversy with Insulting Gesture towards Fans Shouting Messi! Messi!

Saudi football club Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo has landed himself in a controversy after he inappropriately gestured to fans after the team’s 2-0 loss to Al Hilal on Tuesday night. The footage released on social media appears to show Ronaldo making an insulting gesture towards fans who were chanting “Messi! Messi! Messi!”

Ronaldo was taunted as he left the field with Al Hilal fans waving Lionel Messi shirts. he can be seen putting his hand in his genital area and pulling upwards, with the clip showing him moving it around.

This is not the first time the Portugal star has lashed out following taunts from opposition supporters involving his rival Messi. However, reports suggest that his behaviour has caused some unrest in the dressing room, leading to the departure of former manager Rudi Garcia.

Portugal striker Ronaldo moved to Al Nassr on a lucrative deal last January and scored eight goals in his first five games but he has been unable to sustain that pace.

Ronaldo drew a blank while Ighalo, who had a loan spell at Manchester United in 2020, scored twice to hand Asian champions Al Hilal the win.

Al Nassr interim coach Dinko Jelicic told reporters the game changed when they conceded the first spot kick.

Ronaldo, was booked by referee Michael Oliver and handed a yellow card, following his nasty foul on Al Hilal midfielder Gustavo Cuellar. In a video that went viral on the internet, a frustrated Ronaldo can be seen slamming Gustavo to the ground in a WWE style headlock.The incident happened in the 56th minute of the game during a terrible night for Al-Nassr as they suffered a 2-0 defeat.
