IPL 2020: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Predicted Playing XI in IPL 13

It was indeed a hectic day for Royal Challengers Bangalore at the IPL Auctions for the 2020 season. RCB, who are one of the perennial underachievers of this tournament, will now be seeking redemption in 2020. They have a couple of new faces added to their squad and will be aiming at getting the team combination right.

RCB has now invested in some uncapped players. They managed to bag services of Aaron Finch as well as who could be an amazing addition for their team.

Seems that for RCB, the auction has been done and dusted! So what do you expect?  To know more, keep reading on.

The Openers of RCB

The unique combination of Parthiv Patel and Aaron Finch might turn out to be lovely this year. Finch is a brilliant player. He also knows a thing or two about captaincy. That’s what made RCB bag him for about Rs. 4.4 crores. He happens to be an explosive batsman in the top-order and is at the helm of the Australian limited overs team for quite some time now.

On the contrary, Parthiv Patel has always been an integral part of RCB but has not garnered the limelight so far. Remaining in the shadows of AB de Villiers and Kohli, Patel has gone about his duties for RCB in a highly consistent manner. Last year too, he seemed to look in great touch throughout the course of the tournament.

RCB Middle-Order

As far as the middle-order is concerned, AB de Villiers, Gurkeerat Singh and Virat Kohli are in the list. While Kohli does not need any introduction, the other two are good at what they do as well.

Mr. 360, aka, AB de Villiers, has already been indispensable for RCB for a long time now. He happens to be a modern legend although he has retired from international cricket sometime back.

Coming now to Gurkeerat Singh, this 29-year-old man happens to be a sensational fielder and is fondly remembered for the famous flying catch to dismiss Taylor at square leg during IPL 2013. He can be quite a sensational batsman as well.

The All-Rounders of RCB

For RCB, there are three all-rounders this year. First off, Shivam Dube happens to be the one who earned his stripes in Indian colors right after impressing the selectors in the T20 series against the West Indies. He even made a prominent contribution during the T20I decider against Bangladesh with the ball and impressed with the bat during the 2nd T20I against the West Indies. Dube has already been backed by Virat Kohli and should feature in the playing XI this season.

Washington Sundar, on the contrary, is another good all-rounder. However, there are areas where he needs to improve himself, and that being said, it is mainly his fielding. He has the potential to control the entire game with his bowling and devastating batting skills. Moeen Ali is another game-changer with both bat and ball and will be a permanent fixture in the squad too.

The Bowling Unit of RCB

With RCB having ample variety in terms of all-rounders and spinners, they are expected to focus predominantly on pace bowling this season. Umesh Yadav, Kane Richardson and Navdeep Saini should be used regularly with Dale Steyn and Mohammad Siraj as back-up options. Yuzvendra Chahal will be used on spinning tracks as well.

Aaron Finch, Parthiv Patel (WK), Virat Kohli (C), Ab De Villiers, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Chris Morris, Washington Sundar, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
