The IPL auction 2020 was quite an eventful happening as the franchises took their best steps to make sure that gaps do not exist. In the upcoming edition, top-tier teams like Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians were comparatively quiet and made some handful of purchases. Also, they went all-out to purchase a hard-hitter in the form of Caribbean Shimron Hetmyer for bulking up the already intimidating middle-order featuring the likes of Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. This team comprises of three players who can walk into any outfit and be a part of the starting XI.

It is quite evident from their signings of Dale Steyn, Aaron Finch, and Chris Morris. This time they have made sure that lack of experience in big situations would not be a cause of concern.

Because of national commitments, Aaron Finch, who was unable to participate in the last edition of the IPL, will add significant depth in the top-order. His inclusion in the team also implies Virat Kohli is coming first-down. They have also shown quite a bit of faith in Chris Morris, who has been a decent performer in the biggest franchise-based cricket tournament.

At a colossal sum of approximately 16 Crore, roping in Pat Cummins was an excellent job for KKR as they were in the hunt for an established pacer. Also, his batting experience down the order can come in handy in the death overs.

Also, adding Eoin Morgan also gave the KKR lineup quite a bit of depth to their middle-order. Excluding these stalwarts, Tom Banton and Chris Green were also a part of the KKR bargain buys.

Imran Tahir’s absence would be covered up quite adequately by Piyush Chawla. Also, it would be a blessing in disguise as it opens up a spot for an overseas player in the side. The all-round ability of Sam Curran could also prove to be convenient for the team. Josh Hazelwood’s precise line and length can also be a difference for the team, particularly in the slog overs.
