Controversy arises the decision for India vs Pakistan .

After the first Asia Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan was washed out due to rain, the fate of another encounter between the two teams in the Super 4 stage is hanging in the balance, with expectations of more rain. During the group match, only one innings was possible, leaving Pakistan without an opportunity to face a single delivery after India set a target of 267 runs to chase. However, former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi has accused the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) of reversing their decision to move the India vs. Pakistan Super-4 game from Colombo to Hambantota.

A potential change of venue for the Super-4 games had been under consideration due to adverse weather conditions in certain parts of Sri Lanka. Sethi claimed that despite contemplating relocating the Indo-Pak match from Colombo to Hambantota, the BCCI and ACC ultimately decided against it.

Sethi highlighted the stark contrast in weather conditions between the two cities, sharing pictures that indicated Colombo had an 89% chance of rain on Sunday, while Hambantota had only a 12% chance. Nevertheless, the BCCI and ACC opted to keep Colombo as the venue for this high-profile encounter.

In a tweet, Sethi questioned the decision, saying, “BCCI/ACC informed PCB today that they had decided to shift the next India-Pak match from Colombo to Hambantota because of rain forecasts. Within one hour they changed their mind and announced Colombo as the venue. What’s going on? Is India afraid to play and lose to Pakistan? Look at the rain forecast!”

The decision to retain Colombo as the venue has raised questions and concerns, especially considering the previous washout due to rain. Fans of both teams are eagerly awaiting the outcome of this critical clash, hoping for a competitive match that showcases the talents of both sides.

As the Asia Cup 2023 continues, cricket enthusiasts will be keeping a close eye on the weather and the playing conditions, hoping that rain does not disrupt another exciting encounter between India and Pakistan.
