Folarin Balogun Completes Permanent Transfer to AS Monaco

Folarin Balogun, a talented forward, has sealed a permanent transfer to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. Balogun, who joined Arsenal’s ranks at the age of 10, progressed through the club’s academy and excelled in various youth categories. He signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in February 2019.

Balogun’s senior debut for Arsenal arrived when he appeared as a substitute in the 3-0 UEFA Europa League victory against Dundalk in October 2020. He notched his maiden senior goal for the club in the same competition, less than a month later, during a 3-0 away triumph over Molde in Norway.

During the latter half of the 2021/22 season, Balogun enjoyed a loan spell at Championship side Middlesbrough, gaining valuable experience. He made 18 appearances and scored three goals during his time at the Riverside Stadium.

In the previous season, Balogun continued his development on loan at Ligue 1’s Reims. The campaign showcased his prowess as he finished among the top goalscorers in the league, netting 21 goals from 37 appearances.

Notably, Balogun capped off his successful season by making an impactful decision regarding his international career. In May 2023, he chose to represent the US men’s national team, his country of birth. He made his debut in the 2023 CONCACAF Nations League semi-final and contributed a goal in the final, aiding the USA in securing a 2-0 victory over Mexico and clinching the championship.

Arsenal acknowledges and appreciates Folarin Balogun’s contributions from the academy to the first team and extends best wishes for his future endeavors at AS Monaco. The completion of the deal is contingent on the fulfillment of regulatory processes.
