Know Why Anushka Sharma is learning bowling from Jhulan Goswami

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is all set to feature in Jhulan Goswami’s upcoming biopic, tentatively titled as Chakdah Express. The movie will be directed by Prosit Roy who worked with Anushka Sharma earlier in Pari. Anushka was seen to shoot for the same at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata on Saturday. She looked in the groove for the role as she was shooting donning the Indian jersey and trying to emulate the walking style of the former legendary women’s cricketer. The entire team was busy shooting till about 5 am, after which Anushka left for Mumbai. This is the first time in her career when the actress will be appearing in a biopic.

A few pictures of the shoot have broken through the internet which shows the actress trying to ace the role of a pacer. The actress filmed a scene of entering the stadium with 10 players for the Jhulan Goswami biopic.

Having retired from T20Is in 2018, Jhulan Goswami is one of the finest pacers to have played the women’s game. In 2018, she became the first bowler to take 200 wickets in Women’s ODIs. The right-arm fast bowler from West Bengal, who was also awarded the ICC Women’s Player of Year award in 2007, later had a postage stamp issued in her honour.

So far, Jhulan, Goswami has taken 225 wickets in 182 matches after making her ODI debut in 2002. In the ten Tests she has played, she has bagged 40 wickets at an astonishing average of 16.62 with three five-wicket hauls.

This is another addition to the list of biopics that have released in the last few years. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, MS Dhoni-The Untold Story and Sachin-A Billion Dreams are a few names that have went onto become superhits.

Later this year, Ranveer Singh is all set to play the role of Kapil Dev in the movie titled ’83 which traces India’s journey in the 1983 World Cup which they won. That was also their maiden World Cup win after which 28 years later in 2011, MS Dhoni led India to their second World Cup title.
