Players who have amassed largely global stardom in international cricket including Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Marcus Stoinis, Lockie Ferguson and Rashid Khan are some of the many superstars who will be appearing in the star studded roster for the Abu Dhabi T10’s 2024 roster.
Joining the T10 this year, however, are two new franchises – Bolts Ajman and UP Nawabs leading to this season being the largest in the history of the s tournament with almost 10 teams.
Once again, New York Strikers, Deccan Gladiators, Northern Warriors, Morrisville Samp Army, Delhi Bulls, Bangla Tigers, Team Abu Dhabi and the newly re-branded Jaguar Braves (previously The Chennai Braves) are set to return in the tournament.
With the Players Draft on 17th October 2022 around the corner, all franchises have confirmed their existing and new signings for their teams in what looks to be a very competitive event. A whopping number of 400 players from all cricketing nations around the globe have thrown their hat in the race via the Player Draft.
The involvement of viewers during the season is increased thanks to Disney Star with whom a landmark three-year broadcast has also been struck allowing for coverage in English and many regional languages across India.
There will be an explosive 12 day contest during the period of 21st November to 2nd December with the final match on UAE’s 53rd National Day at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, as the ever expanding global audience of the tournament participates.
Shaji Ul Mulk, the chair of T10 Sports Management, commented about the 2024 season of Abu Dhabi T10 in this way, “In the last few years, the T10 format has certainly changed the game of cricket and the interest of people in that format keeps rising every day. The caliber of the players in this season’s roster only heightens the anticipation about the format.
“Our milestone Disney Star broadcast deal and two new teams will make the 2024 season much bigger than the previous seasons. Clearly the format has made a huge impact on the cricket world. It is all about providing phenomenal experiences to the fans—they are going to see the best of everything.”
In the words of Matt Boucher, the CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub, “We’re thrilled to present a world-class roster once again at the 2024 Abu Dhabi T10, since the tournament has flourished since we introduced the competition in the capital of the UAE.
Today, Abu Dhabi is a hotbed for sports of all kinds, and the Abu Dhabi T10 – whose sixth season is almost underway in the emirate – has contributed largely towards achieving that vision of the government.”
The expanding global reach of the tournament this year with a landmark partnership with Disney Star and the addition of two new teams certainly brings new life to the competition, while also effectively helping advertise this incredible city to the globe in the process as this city deserves its fair share of attention. The league management has struck some significant deals and there are more on the way so stay tuned!”
