Lionel Messi tells Barcelona to sign Chelsea defender as PSG prepare huge offer – Reports
Barcelona are looking strengthen their backline for next season are in on the lookout to sign Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso on the recommendation of none other than Lionel Messi, according to a report by The Guardian. The report further suggests that the Catalans had turned a keen eye towards Bayern Munich’s David Alaba in recent days. However, on Messi’s recommendation they might go for the Spaniard who has seen his impressive performances for the Blues recognised with his first ever national team call-up.
Alonso, who had played in the Premier League previously with Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland has seen his reputation sky-rocket in the last couple of seasons – especially after starring for the Blues in Conte’s first season at the helm last year.
