Tilak Varma scored 43 off 25 balls, while Nitish Kumar Reddy added 41 from 20 deliveries to keep hopes alive.
Their attacking partnership briefly brought India back into contention.
However, West Indies continued taking wickets at important moments, preventing the hosts from getting close enough to the target.
Arshdeep Singh also retired hurt after being struck by a short delivery late in the innings.

The final match promises an exciting contest as both sides aim to finish the series with a victory.
