UAE: Indian legend Sehwag praises batting tracks in ILT20

Sehwag

The Indian batting star Virender Sehwag complimented the stadiums located in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah for hosting remarkable matches during the current ILT20 tournament.

Sehwag described UAE stadiums as having some of the best batting tracks that enable players to score big runs. My playing time here was limited but I participated in several matches for India and during the IPL and found batting in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi extremely enjoyable.

Dubai Capitals fought Desert Vipers until the final ball but I predict the upcoming two games will also deliver intense competition.

Sehwag emphasized the development of ILT20 as one of the world’s leading cricket leagues because he has been commenting since its beginning.

The ILT20 ranks among the world’s top cricket leagues. The Indian Premier League aids Indian cricket advancement just as ILT20 supports player development in UAE and Middle Eastern countries. He noted that no other league features nine international players on one team.

I have spent three years working as a commentator for ILT20. The influx of top international players into this league provides valuable exposure for emerging UAE cricketers. They’re getting good experience with international players. Throughout this year’s matches viewers will find close and entertaining games while several matches reached scores above 200 runs.

Sehwag highlighted David Warner as his preferred batter for the ILT20 when asked about ideal partnerships after Warner’s powerful 93 not out against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders led Dubai Capitals into the play-offs.

He expressed enthusiasm about having Indian players participate in this league. Indian players who have recently retired from international cricket or IPL should join this league if they want to play because I would love to see Indian cricketers here and Yuvraj Singh would be my top pick to watch.
