India put in an amazing show during the Fide Chess Olympiad in Budapest, winning the gold medals both in men’s and women’s events.
India’s wonder boy Sachin Tendulkar also sent congratulations to the Indian team for their laudable performance in International Chess Federation (FIDE) Chess Olympiad and lauded even further Edu, Ali and Indi who took up the challenge and got two gold medals in both men and women events respectively. Tendulkar congratulates them.
Tendulkar rejoiced over this victory, particularly as such victories assist in expanding the horizons of chess. Tendulkar also motivate the up and coming generation of chess players in India.
India gave an amazing show in the FIDE Chess Olympiad in Budapest and made history by winning gold in both the men’s and women’s events on Sunday. This is an incredible feat that highlights the depth of talent and strategy in the Indian chess setup.
The victory not only lays to rest the rising dominance of India in the gradual move of the sport but also motivates the coming generation of chess players to aim for the given required international standards.

Congratulating the Indian team, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra stated that the whole country is happy about their achievement.
Morgan was all praise for the effort and spirit of the contestants at the FIDE Chess Olympiad, noting that their victory was important for bringing and motivating the nation. The feelings of Vadra represent national pride because of this particular achievement.

India’s men’s team of D Gukesh, R Praggnanandhaa, Arjun Erigaisi, Vidit Gujrathi, Pentala Harikrishna defeated Slovenia to win the gold medal. Gukesh and Erigaisi went on to win their matches handing India a 2-0 lead. Sandwiched in this win, Praggnanandhaa later won a match and Vidit drew his match so gold was the winner with 3.5-0.5 score.
At the same time, Harika Dronavalli, R Vaishali, Divya Deshmukh, Vantika Agarwal and Tania Sachdev also clinched gold beating Azerbaijani team 3.5-0.5. All three, Harika, Divya, and Vantika, won their bouts while Vaishali drew hers.
This included a first for the women’s team, who bettered their bronze medal performance from the 2022 Chennai Olympiad.
The best past performances of India in the Chess Olympiad till now remains staring at two bronze medals in the years 2014 and 2022.
