Doha: New Vision Badminton Sport (NVBS) trainee Rajatraj Ramesan showed off his athletic prowess by clinching gold in the QRS Spring Series 2020 in the Under15 category in Doha on Friday.
The 14-year-old topped the 3k race with a time of 11:19.6 pushing Gullanam Alinier to the second spot Gullanam finished with a time of 11:50.2.
In the last race of the QRS Spring Series 2020, Rajatraj had finished second. His Badminton coach Manoj Sahibjan attributed his success in athletics to his dedication, discipline and hard work while training in Badminton.
Incidentally, Rajatraj is aiming to become a India National level Badminton player. Another NVBS Badminton player Dhruv Margabandhu secured Fourth place with a timing of 12:33.8.
In the Under11 3K boy’s category, NVBS Sreyas Reddy Chilka, aged 9 bagged the second place with a timing of 13:00, with Bilal Idris finishing first at 12:57.1. Arjun Rao took the the third place.
In the Under11, 3K Girls category, Kavya Sudhir Ganghadar, aged 10, won the first place with a time of 13:47.2, followed by Riya Kurian, aged 10, with a timing of 14:06.4 and Adlyn Mary Sojan finished third.
Under15 3K Girls Category, Sanjana Upadhya grabbed the second place with a timing of 14:58.9 against Audrey Stigter (aged 14) who finished first at 14:46.5.
Joylene Colaco (aged 11) added more to the NVBS victory trophies by finishing at a timing of 14:55.6 to grab the third place.
The highlights of the race series were the young runners like Andriya Sojan Carlos (aged 5+) and Trisha Margabandhu (aged 7) in Girls U11 Category and in Boys Namish Gangadhar (aged 6) & Adon Liju Cherian (aged 5+) who completed the race in less than 20 minutes and earn the applauds of the appreciative crowd alike.
