Sharjah Self-Defence dominate second round of Khaled Bin Mohamed Jiu-Jitsu in Dubai

In Dubai, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club won first place in the second round of the Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which included No-Gi competitions at Coca-Cola Arena on Sunday. The championship, hosted by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, attracted competitors from different divisions like Youth, Adults, and Masters.

During the all-day event, top athletes from the best clubs and academies in the UAE impressed the crowd with their skills, fueled by the enthusiastic cheers of fans and family. Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club claimed victory in Sunday’s events, with M. O. D UAE coming in second and Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club finishing third.

The tournament uses a thorough ranking system that evaluates clubs and athletes according to their performance and results throughout the five-round series. During the initial round of Gi competitions last month at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain Club led the medal standings, followed by Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club and Baniyas Club.

Sheikh Suhail Bin Butti Suhail Al Maktoum, Sheikh Tariq Bin Faisal Al Qassimi, Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Alhashmi, and Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri participated in the competitions as notable officials.

I obtained vital points for my team, which may have a significant impact on the outcome of the championship. “No-Gi competitions require unique abilities, and I’m satisfied with my accomplishments.”

Naser Albreiki, who won the gold medal in the Masters/94 kg category for M. O. D UAE, expressed his pride in achieving this after challenging bouts with other champions. Special skills, strength, and technique were essential in the competitions, with minimal focus on ground fighting. I am grateful to my coaches and teammates, whose backing was crucial for my achievement.
