Royce Reed, the mother of Dwight Howard’s 15-year-old son, Braylon, has opened up about her relationship with the NBA player and hinted at the possibility of filing a civil lawsuit against him. Reed discussed her considerations during an interview on VladTV, shedding light on the ongoing legal issues between her and Howard.

When asked about the recent lawsuit involving Diddy and Cassie and the potential for a similar legal action against Howard, Reed responded, “I have and I’m still considering it.” Reed and Howard have a history of legal disputes, including Reed filing a child neglect charge against Howard over a year ago, alleging inappropriate behavior with a minor and describing him as “evil.”

Dwight Howard, a father of five with different women, met Reed while she was a cheerleader for the Orlando Magic, and she later appeared as a cast member on Basketball Wives. Reed expressed doubts about Howard’s future in the NBA, attributing it to the drama surrounding him. She commented, “It’s the drama in general with him. It is a billion-dollar industry, and you are bringing a player into it with all this drama that has nothing to do with basketball.”

Reed went further to criticize Howard’s qualities as an NBA teammate, stating that she heard from multiple sources that he is not a good teammate. She believes this played a significant role in Howard going unsigned during the offseason.

In addition to their legal battles, Dwight Howard is currently engaged in a custody dispute over another child, a 13-year-old daughter, with his ex-girlfriend Tiffany Render. Howard is seeking to obtain custody and terminate the $3,000 per month child support payments he currently makes to Render. The court documents reveal the ongoing complexities of their custody battle.

Previously, Howard successfully reduced the child support payment from $12,000 per month to the current $3,000 after his NBA earnings ceased. Having last played professional basketball in Taiwan, where he earned significantly less than his NBA career, Howard is looking to eliminate the monthly payments entirely.

The former NBA star, known for his lucrative career with earnings totaling $245.1 million, faces financial and legal challenges in the aftermath of his professional basketball career. The interview with Royce Reed provides insight into the strained relationship between Reed and Howard, as well as the broader legal issues surrounding Howard’s personal life and custody battles.
