Arsenal transfer news: The latest Gunners headlines and updates with gossip from the market with stories on Thomas Partey, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber

Arsenal and the representatives of Thomas Partey are actively exploring a departure for the midfielder this summer, according to a new report.

Mikel Arteta is planning a major midfield shift with Granit Xhaka already set to depart and now Partey, bought in 2020 for €50million (£45.4m) could also join him in heading out the exit door.

According to The Athletic, there is interest from Saudi Arabia in the 30-year-old and Arsenal will consider their options if a suitable opportunity arises for a sale.

Declan Rice is the primary target for the Gunners, as football.london understands, but it is expected another addition will come in the middle of the park if Partey is allowed to depart.

There is interest from Emirates Stadium in Moises Caicedo, but given Brighton’s high valuation, a move for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia is considered more feasible.

Declan Rice latest

Arsenal saw their second bid for West Ham captain Declan Rice rejected on Tuesday, but that decision looks unlikely to deter their pursuit.

That second offer was worth £90million – with £75million offered up front and the remaining £15million as add-ons – but again the payment structure and actual terms of the add-ons were not considered favourable by West Ham.

Nonetheless, Arsenal are already readying a third bid for Rice which will land closer to the Hammers’ £100million valuation after seeing a second offer not accepted.

According to Mail Sport, the Gunners are willing to reach that figure and their next proposal is expected to be far closer to hitting triple figures.

Timber green light

Jurrien Timber has been advised to sign for Arsenal this summer from Ajax after the Gunners submitted their first transfer offer for the defender. Late into Monday evening, news broke out from the Athletic that a shock £30million bid had been made by Arsenal for the Dutch international but Ajax had no intention of accepting the opening offer.
