A Memorable Piece of Argentina’s World Cup Triumph
A replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy held by Lionel Messi during Argentina’s historic 2022 World Cup celebrations is set to go up for auction.
The memorable item became part of the celebrations after Argentina defeated France in the final in Qatar.
The thrilling match ended 3-3 before Argentina secured victory in the penalty shootout.
Messi scored twice, while Kylian Mbappé netted a hat-trick for France in the unforgettable encounter.
The trophy replica is now attracting attention from football fans and collectors interested in owning a piece of sporting history.
What Makes Messi’s Trophy Replica Special?
The replica was brought onto the pitch during Argentina’s celebrations at Lusail Stadium on December 18, 2022.
It was passed among members of the victorious squad for approximately 45 minutes after the final.
Messi was photographed lifting and kissing the trophy, creating some of the most memorable images of Argentina’s triumph.
The item was also signed by eight members of the World Cup-winning team, adding to its historical significance.
Importantly, it is a replica rather than the official FIFA World Cup trophy.
