Indian cricket future is in safe hands, says Rohit Sharma

The Indian captain Rohit Sharma declared that the future of Indian cricket is secure because young players have shown sufficient hunger and talent to perform at top international levels after the team maintained an unbeaten record in the ICC Champions Trophy.

In their second successive white-ball title win Shubman Gill scored 188 runs from five matches with one century while Shreyas Iyer produced 243 runs from five matches including two fifties Axar Patel made 109 runs from five matches and took five wickets Hardik Pandya scored 99 runs across four matches and took four wickets KL Rahul achieved 140 runs in five matches with an average of 140.00 and Varun Chakravarthy captured nine wickets.

Sharma believes that their undefeated journey through the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 demonstrates the team’s passion and commitment which promises a bright future for Indian cricket.

Rohit responded to questions about the team’s potential to dominate international cricket for the next decade by discussing the establishment of systems meant to develop young players.

He told ICC reporters that this represents everything they were aiming for. The objective should be to build your team’s depth while you’re actively competing. We consistently sought to provide playing opportunities for all these players any time we had the chance during the past four to five years. They have grabbed it.”
