India U19 beat Japan U19 by 211 runs in Sharjah

India

India defeated Japan 3-0 at Sharjah in a shaky match of U19 Asia Cup, in which India remained the superior team. India’s captain Mohammad Amaan played an imperious innings in which he bagged 122 unbeaten runs to get his side to a score of 339 for 6. 

His knock was an exercise in grit and steel, where he ground the innings and made the scoreboard tick. The Indian middle order not only supported Amaan’s exploits but also contributed valuable runs to make Japan a hard nut to crack. The second innings will have India looking to attack Japan’s batting order after having set up the perfect starting position.

Two wickets each from Chetan Sharma, Hardik Raj and Karthikeya held Japan to 128/8 off their 50 overs. on Monday against their second match of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup in Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Previous: On the back of a cool, steady hundred from captain Mohammad Amaan, India reached 339-6 from 50 overs. 

Indians were on a high as openers Ayush Mhatre (54 off 29 balls) and Viabhav Suryavanshi (233 off 23 balls) combined to score 65-run first wicket stand. C Andre Siddarth (35) and KP Karthikeya (57) were crucial too. But the knock of the day was made by Amaan who did not get out for 122. Hugo Kelly (2/42) and Kiefer Yamamoto-Lake (2/74) bowled best for Japan. Two wickets each from Charles Hinze and Aarav Tiwari.
