Our Emirates Cup meeting with Monaco will be special, with the presence of legendary manager Arsène Wenger, who served both clubs with distinction. Having spent seven years in charge of Monaco from 1987 to 1994, Arsène achieved significant success, including winning the Ligue 1 title in his first season and establishing Monaco as a top club in French football.
In 2015, Wenger faced Monaco again when we drew them in the Champions League knockout stages. Reflecting on his time at Les Rouge et Blanc, he shared memories of his tenure. We also had the chance to hear from his assistant manager at the time, Jean Petit, who shed light on Wenger’s early managerial career, as well as stories about club legends like George Weah and Thierry Henry who played under their leadership.
