The Indian team led by Virat Kohli lost the three-match ODI series against New Zealand after being beaten by 22 runs in the second ODI in Auckland. Chasing 274, India were all-out for 251 after Navdeep Saini and Ravindra Jadeja’s efforts were not enough to see India home. The win in Auckland sealed New Zealand’s first ODI series win against India since 2013-14. India vs New Zealand 2020 ODI series is now in its last leg with the New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI to be played at Mount Maunganui on Tuesday, February 11.

Having lost the series, the New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI is more like a formality for India, but on hindsight, India has to look back at the mistakes they have made in the series. It was their bowlers who were too expensive in the first match, while in the second match, the batsmen did not do the job for the team. Also, Virat Kohli not being in form in the absence of senior players Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan has also hurt the team’s chances. Thus if we do a team analysis of the Indian team ahead of the third ODI, Kohli’s return to form is a must for India and also going in with an extra batsman in Manish Pandey in place of Kedar Jadhav, who has not performed at all in the series. Kohli also hinted in the post-match presentation in the 3rd ODI that India might make some changes in their playing XI in the last game.

While, Manish Pandey should be given a game, the Indian spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal should be given another game. Either of Pandey or Kuldeep can be replaced by Jadhav. With Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini both contributing with the bat and ball in the last game, both are expected to be a part of the Indian playing XI.

While, India is struggling to find an ideal combination, there is good news for the Kiwis as far as India vs new Zealand 2020 3rd ODI team predictions are concerned. Kane Williamson is available for selection for the Kiwis in the New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI. Williamson missed the first two games due to shoulder injury. The Kiwis though have their share of problems as well. Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee are doubtful for the game after suffering from stomach upset. Meanwhile, all-rounder Scott Kuggleijn has been suffering from viral fever. Ish Sodhi and Blair Tickner have been recalled into the side for this particular game and both are expected to be in the New Zealand playing XI.

As far as the New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI predicted Playing XI is concerned, while either of Pandey or Kuldeep is expected to replace Jadhav in the Indian playing XI, Ish Sodhi, Blair Tickner and Kane Williamson might feature in the New Zealand playing XI.
