Barcelona News: Impressive Paulinho breaks La Liga record after Eibar win
Paulinho’s move to Barcelona earlier this season was treated with as much ridicule as it was with surprise. The Barca faithful were in fact left scratching their heads whilst their rivals laughed at the former Spurs man’s arrival at the Nou Camp.
A few months later everything has changed. The man once branded as the ‘worst player to ever play for Tottenham’ courtes of a vite by Spurs fans has taken to life in La Liga like a duck to water. His time with the La Liga leaders so far has resulted in eight goals and two assists as he looks even more impressive with every outing in Barcelona colours.
Valverde forgot what instructions to give to Paulinho after seeing Barcelona's goal. This is hilarious. pic.twitter.com/wMwqMnBorm

Lauded as one of the coups this season, Paulinho has time again proved to be one of the most important cogs in the Barcelona side under Ernesto Valverde. And following their 2-0 win over Eibar, the Brazilian has become the holder of an impressive record in La Liga.
He has become the player to have played the most La Liga games (23) without losing any (18 wins and five draws) so far.

Despite having a crucial Champions League tie in midweek and Valverde having the option of Coutinho on the bench, the former Spurs man was preferred to the expensive new signing from Liverpool.
Many thought Paulinho run in European football was over after the midfielder switched to the cash-rich Chinese Super League a few years back- playing for Guangzhou Everglade. However, that one step backward seems to have helped him to take two steps in front.
It is truly incredible how the 29-year-old has been able to transform not only his career but the opinion of critics around him. With Barcelona going all guns blazing in all competitions and the World Cup set to arrive this summer, this man will have more chances to impress.
