Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs will miss at least two weeks with a right knee injury. The team announced the medical update on Monday following evaluations.
Avoiding Major Structural Damage
Suggs sustained the injury during a victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday. He collapsed on a breakaway layup attempt late in the fourth quarter. The injury occurred without any contact from an opposing player. Medical staff helped him off the court and into the locker room. Fortunately, scans revealed a mild bone bruise and ruled out major structural damage.
Impact On The Magic Roster
The team will reevaluate the guard in two weeks. Suggs has averaged 12.6 points and 3.8 assists over his six-year NBA career. He has previously struggled with injuries, playing only 92 games over the past two seasons. The Magic must now adjust their backcourt rotation during his absence.
