Reports: Real Madrid accept €130 million for their superstar

Real Madrid have accepted a €130 million from an unnamed Chinese Super League side for their Welsh superstar Gareth Bale according to reports from Spanish media outlet Diario GOL.

Bale is currently in his fifth season with Real after signing from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 for a then world record sum of €100 million. The winger had a brilliant start to his stay at Real – winning the Copa del Rey in his first season at the Spanish capital.

In the subsequent years, the 28-year-old would go on to win three Champions League trophies along with two FIFA Club World Cups and the La Liga last season. However, his injuries in the recent past has seen him play only a peripheral role.

Bale has been booed by the Real Madrid faithful and Floreinto Perez might finally see this offer as one that is too tempting to pass on. The report also suggests that the Blancos are looking at the best offer to offload the Southampton academy product and this has been the most lucrative one made for his services so far.

The Welshman has, however, reportedly rejected the offer and is keen to fight for his place in the Madrid team.

On top of that, this rumour has to be taken with a pinch of salt as this comes from Diario GOL – who have built up a reputation for churning up wild transfer rumours without getting much right in recent days.

Whilst many believe that many heads will roll in the summer after Real’s disastrous domestic campaign so far, Bale has time and again reiterated his plans to stay at the club.

The European champions might certainly be tempted to part with their injury-riddled superstar if such an astronomical bid is put forth. However, with the Chinese FA bringing in stricter rules for foreign import – such a huge bid is one that one can certainly rule out.
