English Premier League Points Table 2019-20

The 28th edition of the top English professional football league – the English Premier League 2019 – 2020 has got underway from 9th August 2019 with the Liverpool vs Norwich City match in the stadium of Anfield, Liverpool. The fans have been eagerly waiting for the English Premier League 2019/20 draw that was released on 13th Jun 2019. Ever since it has been an impatient wait for the Premier League clashes to begin. For the English Premier League 2018-2019 season, reigning champions Manchester City topped the points table and won their fourth Premier League title, and their sixth English top-flight title overall. In their journey to top the points table, Manchester City had won their last 14 league games and retained the league title on the final day of the season, finishing on 98 points. Runners up Liverpool team gave a very close contest to the champions and finished with 97 in the points table.

Expectations on which team will lead the points table in the English Premier League 2019/20 is already doing rounds and experts are making some bold predictions on how the points table will look like as the tournament progresses. Debates and discussions around which team will lift the trophy, which top 4 teams will lead the table and proceed to the Champions League and which 3-teams with lowest points in the table maybe relegated at the end of the season are being discussed and debated at length.

In the history of the English Premier League, a total of 49 teams have ever participated and of these only 6 teams have topped the points table to emerge as the Champions for the respective seasons – Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Leicester City. And over years of the Premier League, only 6 teams have made a presence across all the 28 editions – they are Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Spurs. So much of nostalgia and euphoria attached to this top English professional football league.
