The 2019 NBA free agent class boasts of illustrious players who will expectedly bring about a change in the league’s power balance for years to come. The 2020 class, however, looks pale in comparison but still there are a handful of players who will be coveted by the teams if they foray into the market. The following are the top-rated players available free agency:
- Montrezl Harrell, PF, Los Angeles Clippers – He made a significant contribution to the Clippers’ bench last season, scoring 16.6 points and grabbing 6.5 rebounds per game. A very well-equipped interior defender, he puts it equal efforts as anyone on the boards.
- Otto Porter, CF, Chicago Bulls – Though the four-years, $106 million contract given to him by the Washington Wizards are probably not very well-deserved, but he undoubtedly a prolific player and should still have several quality seasons to prove his mettle in. he averaged 13.9 points and shot a solid 37% from 3-point range between the Wizards and Bulls last season.
- Serge Ibaka, PF, Toronto Raptors – With an average of 15 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for the Toronto Raptors this last season, Ibaka also played a major role in their first NBA championship. His has proved his versatility in terms of defending multiple positions, and his strong two-way game makes him a coveted player for NBA Free Agency 2020.
- DeMar DeRozan, SG, San Antonio Spurs – One of the most consistent scorers in the league, DeRozan has to his credit, six consecutive seasons of 20-plus points per game. Though he shouldn’t feature amongst the top 2 options but can add considerable value to his team.
- Eric Gordon, SG, Houston Rockets – A dependable 3-point shooter, he is one of those players who can work his charm in a sixth-man role. When it comes to shooting and/or scoring a punch off the bench, this 30-year old veteran can give many others a run for their money!
- Gordon Hayward, SG/SF, Boston Celtics – Having suffered a leg injury recently, his form had a major setback. However, this veteran player has strong chances of bouncing back once he is in action mode. His fans are undeterred by his disappointing performances of recent times.
- Andre Drummond, C, Detroit Pistons – In the last season, he not only led the league with 15.6 rebounds per game, but also scored 17.3 points per contest. Over the last two seasons, he has improved a lot as far as free throw line is concerned. He has a player option for almost $29 million for 2020-21.
- Mike Conley, PG, Utah Jazz – An efficient point guard amongst the NBA players available, he will be turning 32 next summer. Likely, this will be the last opportunity for him to bag a lucrative long-term contract. However, one doesn’t know if he will settle for the 2020-21 option worth about $34.5 million.
- Draymond Green, PF, Golden State Warriors – One of the best defensive players of his times, Green has proved his versatility over the years. He is quite adept at defending both forward spots and centre. A superb rebounder, he is sure to attract several potential suitors if he forays into the open market of free agency 2020.
- Anthony Davis, C, Los Angeles Lakers – Following reports of his trade from the New Orleans Pelicans, he is most likely to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. If he hits 2020 free agency period, he will turn out to be one of the most sought-after UFAs of all times. After all, even in the middle of his prime, he has managed to retain his status as a top-five player.
