Arsenal linked with big money moves for talented duo

Arsenal might have gotten off to a poor start to their2018-19 campaign but new coach Unai Emery was quick to turn things around. TheGunners started with two successive draws following the loss to Chelsea but went on a 22-match unbeaten streak before finally falling to Southampton. The defeat at the St Mary’s Stadium was a reminder to Emery that he needs to build on their impressive start by bringing in new signings this January.

According to sources, Arsenal have been linked with two talented forwards during the next month’s winter transfer window. The two names are Lille’s Nicolas Pepe and Boca Juniors’ Cristian Pavon.

Ivorian Nicolas Pepe has been in scintillating form since his move to Lille in the summer. The youngster has scored 12 goals and registered 7 assists in just 18 Ligue 1 games so far. His fantastic efforts have seen Lille leapfrog to second on the Ligue 1 charts behind high-flying PSG. Arsenal are not the only club linked with the young forwards, but if reports are to be believed they are currently leading the race and are likely to bring the Ivorian to the Emirates Stadium.

Argentine Cristian Pavon has made over 70 appearances for Boca Juniors and has also represented his nation on 11 occasions. Pavon was also apart of the 23 man squad named by Argentina manager Jorge Sampaoli for this year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia. The 22-year-old is considered as one of the brightest prospects in whole of Argentina.
