Though Mumbai Indians won the IPL title in 2019, it was the season of the Delhi Capitals as they made it to the knockouts for the first time since 2012. Their youngsters rose to the occasion under skipper Shreyas Iyer and had an IPL campaign to remember. They added as many as eight players and traded Ajinkya Rahane from the Rajasthan Royals. Also in the process, they have made their bench-strength stronger and have added options in their squad as well. The predicted line-up of DC should be a balanced one which will surely challenge the opponents.

One of the strongest points of Delhi Capitals over the years have been their Indian batsmen leading their batting line-up. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw made a successful pair for the Capitals in 2018 and 2019. Now with the arrival of Rahane in the squad, Shaw will have to vacate his place for the senior opener. It still does not take the sheen away from their batting line-up as Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Chris Woakes and Marcus Stoinis give them the solidity in the batting order. They rebought another opener in Jason Roy whom they had released before the IPL 2020 auctions. There is also Hetmyer at number three who will add his own firepower to the batting line-up.
What Delhi has done better this season is that they have added enough backup for Kagiso Rabada. He has the likes of Ishant Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra and also the all-rounders Woakes and Stoinis who can add support to Rabada. While they have Roy as a backup for the batsmen they have enough backup with the bowlers too. Sandeep Lamichhane, Keemo Paul, Avesh Khan and Axar Patel are all good bowlers and can contribute for the team when needed.
However, this is the best possible predicted line-up that Delhi Capitals can opt for throughout the tournament. Depending on oppositions, they have enough options to alter the team around as well.

Batting Heavy Predicted Line-up of DC

In case they want to add muscle to their batting line-up, they have Jason Roy, who can come into the playing XI. To keep the left-right combination on, Rahane might have to sit out to let Roy in which also means that one of the overseas all-rounders will also have to sit out as well. Most probably it will be Chris Woakes in case the scenario appears. With Roy and Dhawan at the top, the middle-order of Iyer, Hetmyer, Pant and Stoinis gives solidity to the batting line-up through the middle. Ishant, Ashwin, Rabada, Mishra and Axar can then complete the bowling line-up. With Axar being a part of the line-up, Delhi can bat as deep as eight. After trading Trent Boult to Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2020 auctions, Delhi Capitals have lost a bit of their shine from their bowling attack. Still Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel and the all-rounders Woakes and Stoinis give the Delhi Capitals bowling line-up a well-rounded look. As discussed above that the franchise has done well to add backups for Rabada and now the workload will be shared equally by all the bowlers. Like the core of their Indian batters, they have three of the most successful Indian bowlers in their line-up in Ashwin, Mishra and Ishant, all of whom are IPL veterans as well.
In case they want to mix and match the bowling line-up they have options in Axar Patel, Lamichanne, Avesh Khan, Keemo Paul and Mohit Sharma who is another addition in the Capitals’ bowling group. Depending upon the opposition and the conditions, the management can rotate the bowlers around. In case they need an extra pacer, Mohit can come into the line-up and in case they need an extra spinner they have Axar and Lamichanne to choose from expecting the likes of Rabada, Ashwin and Mishra to play all the games for Delhi. Avesh Khan and Keemo Paul are also handy options available to Delhi.
