Shadab Khan Leads Pakistan to Stunning Victory
Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan delivered a remarkable performance against England, guiding his team to a dramatic one-wicket victory in their ODI tri-series clash in Lahore on October 25, 2026.
After the match, Shadab dedicated the memorable win to his mother and wife, recognising their importance in his life.
His emotional message also praised teammate Haris Rauf for his contribution during the tense finish.
Shadab remained unbeaten on 113 from 96 deliveries, producing his maiden international century.
The victory secured Pakistan’s place in the tri-series final.
Record-Breaking Partnership Turns the Match Around
Pakistan appeared close to defeat after slipping to 154 for nine while chasing England’s target of 242 runs.
With 88 runs still needed, Shadab found a crucial partner in Rauf, who held his ground at the other end.
The pair added an unbeaten 89 runs for the final wicket, setting a record for the highest 10th-wicket partnership in a successful ODI run chase.
Shadab struck 13 fours and five sixes during his outstanding innings.
Rauf scored seven not out and sealed the win with a boundary as Pakistan reached 243 for nine in 47.1 overs.
Shadab Enters the ODI Record Books
Shadab’s unbeaten 113 became the highest individual score by a batter at number eight or lower in men’s ODI cricket.
His innings rescued Pakistan after England’s bowlers had reduced the hosts to a precarious position.
Earlier, England were bowled out for 241 in 46.4 overs, with Ben Duckett scoring 105 runs.
Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi played a major role with the ball, taking four wickets for 46 runs.
Despite England’s efforts to defend their total, Shadab’s composure and attacking strokeplay changed the outcome.
Pakistan Build Momentum Ahead of the Final
The thrilling result marked Pakistan’s third consecutive victory in the ODI tri-series and confirmed their place in the final.
England, meanwhile, suffered their third successive defeat in the competition.
Shadab’s performance demonstrated his value as an all-rounder, particularly under pressure when the team needed a match-winning contribution.
Rauf’s patience and support proved equally important in completing the unlikely chase.
The win will be remembered for the record partnership and Shadab’s heartfelt dedication to his family.
