Women’s T20 Asia Cup to be held in Dubai; tournament final on September 13

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has confirmed the schedule for the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026, with the eight-team tournament set to take place in Dubai from August 28 to September 13.

According to Cricinfo, the tournament will open with a Group A match between Hong Kong and Thailand on August 28. All matches will be played under lights at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, with the final scheduled for September 13.

India and Pakistan Set for September 5 Clash

One of the most anticipated matches of the group stage will see India face Pakistan on September 5.

The highly watched rivalry will be one of the key fixtures of the tournament as both teams look to secure a place in the knockout stage.

Groups Confirmed for Asia Cup

The eight participating teams have been divided into two groups.

Group A:

  • India
  • Pakistan
  • Hong Kong
  • Thailand

Group B:

  • Sri Lanka
  • Bangladesh
  • Indonesia
  • United Arab Emirates

Defending champions Sri Lanka will begin their title defence in Group B, while hosts UAE will compete against some of the region’s leading women’s cricket teams.

Key Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh Match

A major Group B encounter between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is scheduled for September 6.

During the group stage, each team will play every other team in its group once. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

Semi-Finals Set for September 10 and 11

The first semi-final will take place on September 10, featuring the Group A winners against the Group B runners-up.

The second semi-final is scheduled for September 11, with the Group A runners-up facing the Group B winners.

The tournament will then conclude with the final on September 13 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Sri Lanka Enter as Defending Champions

The 2026 tournament will be the sixth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup played in the T20 format.

Sri Lanka enter the competition as defending champions after winning the previous edition. Bangladesh won the title in 2018, while India remain the most successful team in the T20 format, having claimed three titles in 2012, 2016 and 2022.
