T10 League 2019 Playoffs Matches, Team Predictions and Preview

The Playoffs of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2019 are slated to start soon. The Qalandars, Maratha Arabians, Bangla Tigers and Deccan Gladiators are the four teams who have obtained an entry into the playoffs. The first qualifier will have the Qalandars locking horns with the Maratha Arabians.

The Eliminator will have the Bangla Tigers facing the Deccan Gladiators. The team winning the Eliminator match and the team losing the Qualifier game will be facing each other in the second Qualifier match. This will be the last game for today.

Qualifier 1- Maratha Arabians vs. Qalandars

Preview-

This one’s set to be a tough game with the Qalandars and Maratha Arabians more or less well-matched. Chris Lynn could be the major game-changer for the Arabians who has been piling on the runs with three 50-plus scores in succession. The powerful top-order of the Arabians helped them top the entire league stage with 4 victories in 6 matches.

The Qalandars were second, posting 3 victories in 6 games along with two defeats and one draw. The Qalandars will be relying heavily on players like Mujeeb, Jordan/Clark (whoever plays), Malan and Banton to steer things through while the Arabians have a formidable bowling unit of Malinga, McClenaghan, Bravo and Shanaka along with others. On paper, the Arabians look to be the stronger outfit.

Maratha Arabians: Lyth, Lynn, Walton (wicket-keeper), Najibullah, Yuvraj, Hasaranga, Shanaka, Malinga, Bravo (captain), Shiraz and McClenaghan.

Qalandars: Banton, Salt (wicket-keeper), Malan (captain), Cadmore, Evans, Clark/Jordan, Sultan, Kumara, Garton, Mujeeb and Prasanna.

Prediction-

The Maratha Arabians look to be the stronger side on paper at least and with their powerful top order and bowling unit, they should be able to counter the strong Qalandars and win this game.

Eliminator- Deccan Gladiators vs. Bangla Tigers

Match Preview-

Both teams will face off in this do-or-die game since one of these teams will be eliminated from the finals of the Abu Dhabi T10 League. The winning team will be competing with the loser of the first Qualifier for getting a position in the finals. Both teams have good top-order and the Tigers will be depending heavily on the power and finishing of players like Andre Fletcher and Rilee Russouw while Kieron Pollard and Shane Watson will be holding the responsibility for taking the team smoothly to a big total for the Deccan Gladiators.

The Gladiators have a good team overall with other players like Fawad, Rajapaksa, Cutting and Shahzad while the Tigers will also rely on Ingram, Frylinck and Plunkett. This will be one tight contest. Perera, the Tigers’ skipper, will also be playing a vital role in the match.

Prediction-

Predicting this match is tough as both sides are quite well-balanced. However, the Gladiators could be the stronger team overall with giants like Watson and Pollard and other competent players like Cutting in the mix. The Tigers have a good squad led by captain Perera but the Gladiators may prove stronger in the end.
